The ramifications of NetApp’s Cloud Launch last week are long-lasting and profound. So much so that we didn’t even have time to highlight all of the new Cloud-specific resources available. Here are a few of my favorites.
Interactive Cloud Experience
We just launched this new site on Monday. Come visit to experience NetApp’s Cloud definition and ecosystem in a rich and immersive web experience. If you like what you see, you can also sign up for our Fast-Start Workshops to help get you started on your own customized Cloud Journey, tailored specifically to your needs.
New Cloud Team Blog
Our Dynamic Data Center and Virtualization Team blogs are already substantial sources of information on their related topics, covering the awe-inspiring breadth of NetApp activity in these spaces. However NetApp believes Cloud Computing is transformative on levels beyond technology or IT processes.
The new NetApp Cloud Team Blog will focus on the cultural and business evolution which Cloud Computing is unfolding upon traditional IT. I plan to share my Cloud thoughts on that blog, while keeping this NetApp Exposed blog focused on technology trends and competitive perspectives from the NetApp Office of the CTO.
Cloud Whitepapers
Back in the spring, we published our inaugural Dynamic Data Center whitepaper. In light of our recent Cloud Launch, it takes on more significance, and is well worth the read.
Storage Infrastructure for Cloud Computing is our follow-up – also highly recommended.
Data ONTAP 8 is focused on scalability, specifically scale-out beyond legacy niche HPC vertical market apps. Our DOT8 family is aimed at the much broader horizontal scale-out application market for mainstream workloads run by Enterprise IT and/or dominant Cloud Service Providers . Read ESG’s take on this important distinction.
Demos
NetApp Data Motion seems to have really resonated with many customers, analysts and journalists since our launch last week. This new demo shows what all the fuss is about!
These resources should help you get started down the right path on your Cloud Journey. Please let us know what you think!
