My daughter Sarah returned to university after Christmas. She is completely uninterested in technology, except when it helps her communicate with friends and store pictures or videos. However, she discovered last quarter that dropping her laptop is a VeryBadThing™. After spending hours tediously recovering class notes and other data on her near-dead drive (ironically the plunge occurred during "dead week"), I had to devise a data protection strategy for an accident-prone student.
Behold the cardboard backup!
