HP Takes Right Hand of LeftHand
$360m iSCSI Dowry
HP has wooed and won LeftHand Networks in deal reputedly worth $360m.
Hmmmm….
Let’s see if HP can make more of this purchase than their PolyServe acquisition. It’s certainly a poke in the eye for Dell. Their purchase of EqualLogic cost them a whopping $1.4billion to get their mits on an iSCSI solution.
When will these guys learn? It’s all about unified storage, not about bodging up hybrid monsters from the parts bin.
.

Clearly not understanding market share, customer base, revenue, and profitability shows through with this blog entry.
That is like comparing NetApp to BlueArc, making the parallel of Equallogic to Lefthand Networks.

Steven
I don't think I mentioned anything about market share, customer base, revenue, and profitability. Particularly not of LHN, because it is -- or was until today -- privately held.
What I did point out was that Dell paid a lot more for an iSCSI product than HP has. Over four times as much, which hardly makes it the bargain of the decade. And are you claiming that Dell/EQL and HP/LHN will occupy separate markets? That's potentially shortsighted on your part.
Wrong analysis on NetApp and BlueArc, too; we compete, believe me.
