* - EMC isn't hiding its intentions. v1 of Celerra dedupe is easy to enable on existing and new files sytems through the gui or cli. Don't assume it's the end of the line for their strategy. It's also available via a code upgrade, that's why existing customers on past generations supporting that code can use it.

* - Celerra dedupe runs continously and not in some started cron task.

* - "For files <200MB" - that is a default number and it is possible to alter that setting. I would caution users to be aware of potential CIFS time-out as anyone compressing files might be familiar with.

* - Savings is savings. Mileage will vary, as with ASIS. We can all spend our time finding use cases to cvlaim superiority over others. These aren't the droids you seek ... move along.
