For a more in-depth description and explanation of the above enhancements please take a look at a previous SMVI 2.0 blog post.

I was hoping there was going to be improvements to the scheduler, but alas it's the same as before. I will have to resort to windows task manager with smvi cli commands. How to put in an enhancement request for cron type scheduling?

Adrian,
There will be changes in the Scheduler in the next release. Right off the bat I don't know what the changes will be, however, if you tell exactly what you're attempting to do, I talk to the PM and see if the scheduler changes will address your need.
Thanks

Thanks Nick. At the most basic level, I want to do hourly backups during business hours only as I don't see the point in continuing the hourly backups all night. I know there are ways around it right now, e.g multiple schedules for the same job, but it would just be nice to have a whole lot more flexibility in the built-in scheduler.

Adrian,
This is definately in the next release. It Supports Scheduled Blackout periods such that an administrator can schedule a backup every hour except for specifc timeperiods i.e 9AM-12 and 1-4PM.

Good to hear! Another feature request...I would like to do hourly backups on some servers, but I am finding that the snapmirror from the previous backup may not have completed yet. It would be cool if it could check the snapmirror status and either skip or postpone the backup.
