SnapManager for Virtual Infrastructure (SMVI) available on NOW

We are happy to share that version 2.0 of the SnapManager for Virtual Infrastructure(SMVI) we demoed at VMworld 2009 last month in San Francisco and talked about it here, here, and here is now available for download on the NetApp NOW site. Listed below are the new features and enhancements added to SMVI in this release.
- Single file restore
- A single wizard for creating manual and scheduled backup jobs
- New backup job options:
- The ability to include independent disks
- The ability to exclude specified datastores
- The ability to trigger pre-backup or post-backup scripts per backup job
- An advanced find option to search for specific backup jobs:
- Restore individual VMDKs
These new features, especially being able to achieve Single File Restore, offer significant value to virtualized environment of any size as you march towards your goals of 100% virtualized data centers.
